What is “Beer Xpress”?

Beer Xpress is an online service that allows customers to order beer from their desktop or mobile device for pick up from participating location, or have their beer delivered to their home.

How can I find out what stores offer Beer Xpress?

Beer Xpress is offered in select Beer Store locations across Ontario. To view participating stores and delivery areas, please visit beerxpress.ca

When is the store near me going to have the Beer Xpress service available?

How do I provide feedback on my Beer Xpress experience?

Do I need to register/have the app?

We encourage you to register and get the app, as this is the fastest way to use Beer Xpress. Our Beer Xpress website also allows guest checkout if you don’t wish to register.

Once I’ve registered, what do I do if I forget my password?

To reset your password, please click here. An email will be sent to you with a temporary password. If you registered using your Facebook or Google ID, you will need to sign in using those services.

Can Licensees use Beer Xpress Delivery or Pick up?

No, this service is for home consumers only.

Ordering

How far in advance can I order?

You may order up to 3 days ahead of time within the same week. For Beer Xpress scheduled pick-up orders, Sunday is the last day for pick-up.

What happens if a product I order is out of stock?

Only products that are in stock will be available for order. However, if for some reason the product that you ordered is out of stock at the time the order is being prepared, we will notify you via email, along with details of your updated cart.

Can I store my purchase history so I can place the same order as last time?

Yes! When you register and create a Beer Xpress profile, your order history will be stored in your profile; you can re-create a previous order with a single click from your Order History page.

Can I edit my order after I have submitted it?

At this time you are not able to edit an order after submitting it. Any changes to an order would require the order to be cancelled and a new order would have to be created. We advise to check and edit the contents of your cart prior to submitting your order.

How do I cancel my order?

You can cancel your order at any time before it has been picked up in-store. When logged in to your account, visit your Order History, select the order you wish to cancel and click “Cancel Order”.

How will I know when my order is ready for pick up?

We will send you an email notifying you when your order is ready.

Pick up

Where do I go to pick up my order?

The order will be available for pick up at the participating store you selected when placing the order. The store will have a kiosk or signage identifying where to pick up your Beer Xpress purchase.

How soon after I place my order will it be ready?

The minimum pick up window is 30 minutes. You can select a pick up window for time frames beyond 30 minutes.

Can I have someone else pick up my order for me?

The person who places the order must pick up the order and have their ID and payment card available for verification.

Can I arrive early or late for my order?

When your order is ready for pick up, we will send you an email. If you have placed a same day order, you can pick it up any time after you receive the email until the store closes. If you don’t pick up the order before the store closes your order will be cancelled and your credit card will not be charged.

Is there someone to help me carry out my order?

A staff member is always able to assist in carrying out an order to a vehicle upon request.

Can I return empties when picking up my order?

Beer Xpress is an express service and does not include empty returns at this time. If you want to return your empties, please use our regular returns counter.

Do I need ID for my pick up?

Yes, you would need to show ID for pick up as part of the The Beer Store’s responsible sales program. We also need to check your ID to confirm that you are the person who placed the order.

What happens if I do not pick up my order?

If you don’t pick up your order, your order will be cancelled and your credit card will not be charged. You will also receive an email notifying you that your order has been cancelled.

Payment

How do I pay for an order through the Beer Xpress service?

A major credit card is required to place an order. We accept Visa (including Visa Debit), Mastercard and American Express.

Is there an additional fee for “Beer Xpress”?

There is no additional cost to pick up your Beer Xpress order in-store. A delivery fee applies to Home Delivery orders.

Is there a minimum order amount?

Yes, the minimum order amount is $20.00 and a maximum of $500.00.

When is my credit card charged?

For pick up orders, credit card information is taken when the order is placed, but your credit card will not be charged until the order is picked up in-store. For Beer Xpress Home Delivery orders, your credit card will be charged at the door by the driver when you receive your delivery.

Can I store my credit card information in my profile when I register?

Yes, it’s the fastest way to place an order but it is optional.

Do I need to store my credit card information?

No, you are not required to save credit card information, however the option is there for quick future purchases.

Is there a fee for cancelling an order?

No, the order is simply cancelled and you will receive an email notifying you of the cancellation.

Is delivery available?

Home Delivery

What is Beer Xpress Home Delivery?

Beer Xpress Home Delivery allows you to browse and shop for beer online, and request delivery to your residence by a Liquor Delivery Service (LDS) licensed by the AGCO. All orders are completed on the Beer Xpress website or app and are typically delivered within about 2 hours, except for high traffic periods such as holidays, inclement weather, or similar circumstances. Customers pay for their orders at their door when the order is received.

Can I have beer delivered to my workplace?

No, Beer Xpress deliveries must be made to a residential address (or hotel/motel room). Liquor Delivery Services (LDS) licensed by the AGCO are not permitted to deliver alcohol to commercial addresses. If you are ordering beer for a party, such as an office party or stag and doe event, you must obtain a Special Occasions Permit through the LCBO.

Can Licenesees order beer through Beer Xpress Home Delivery?

What are the hours for home delivery?

A delivery order must be placed within The Beer Store’s hours of operation. Hours will vary based on your location, day of the week, and the store that is fulfilling your order

How soon after ordering will you deliver the product to me?

Our expected delivery window is 2 hours after ordering. You can expect a delivery typically any time in that 2-hour span, but peak times, holidays, and weather may affect your personal delivery time. Please ensure that you are home with valid ID and your credit card until your beer is delivered.

What happens if I am not there to accept the delivery?

Delivery personnel will require you to be present with a valid piece of ID that matches the name on the order information. Product cannot be delivered if the ID does not match to the order and if you have not completed payment. Product must be delivered personally and cannot be left at the doorstep or mailbox. If the customer is not present at the time of delivery, the driver will return the order to the store for cancellation. From the store, your order will be cancelled.

Can a minor order beer through Beer Xpress Home Delivery?

We require all individuals to present valid photo ID matching the order name to the delivery driver. The delivery personnel are trained to deliver only to those of legal age (19+ in Ontario) that match the name on the order. No individual may accept or pay for an order on behalf of another, and your product will not be left on the doorstep. If we cannot confirm the age of majority for a recipient and their ID does not match the name on the order, the delivery driver will take the order back to our store, cancel it, and refund the order.

How much does Home Delivery cost?

Home Delivery fees vary between locations. To find out the cost of delivery in your area, visit the Beer Xpress Home Delivery page.

How was the Home Delivery fee determined?

The delivery fee is set by our delivery partners and goes directly to the delivery company. The Beer Store does not receive money or profit from the delivery fee.

When is my credit card charged?

Your credit card is charged at the door by the delivery driver.

Can I cancel my order while the delivery driver is out for delivery?

Yes, you can cancel your order up until you receive it. We alert the delivery personnel mid route, but some drivers may not be able to receive the alert and may still arrive at your door. After informing the delivery driver that you have cancelled your order, our delivery personnel will take the order back to the store and your order will be cancelled.

Are the delivery drivers licensed?

All delivery drivers are licensed by the AGCO to deliver alcohol in Ontario.

Is a tip required?

You don’t need to tip your delivery driver, though you are welcome to do so if you wish. You can tip in cash at the door or on the drivers’ payment terminal if you pay by credit or debit. 100% of tips are given to the driver.

Can my driver take my empties / Can I tip my driver with empties?

Empties are not included as part of your Beer Xpress order. You are free to offer your driver your empties as a tip. Drivers are not obligated to accept empties, and, if they agree, may only be able to accept some of your empty containers. The delivery drivers will not pay you for your empties; to receive your container deposit refund, please return your empties to The Beer Store.
